About lupus and the New Jersey Chapter

A Personal Donation

"LUCY"

We want to share with you that  VH1 News has begun airing a promo video on new song  “Lucy”, with an interview of Julian Lennon revealing the inspiration for the original, ”Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”, and his efforts to raise awareness of lupus, and support lupus research. The LFA logo is featured as one of the charities benefitting from the song’s proceeds. You can view the full interview here

CBS-The Early Show and Evening News-Julian Lennon and James Scott Cook will be on The Early Show, Tuesday December 15, performing their song “Lucy” for which proceeds will be donated to the Lupus Foundation of America for lupus research. The focus here is expected to be on the performance.  Julian will tape an interview for the CBS Evening News on Monday.  We anticipate that interview to be aired on Tuesday or Wednesday evening.

About lupus

Lupus is a widespread, dangerous and debilitating autoimmune disease that severely affects millions of people, primarily women in their child bearing years.  Often life threatening, lupus destroys the immune system and attacks healthy tissue and organs including the skin, joints, kidneys, lungs, heart and blood.  Lupus is difficult to diagnose and unpredictable.  Current treatments are toxic and can be devastating to patients.  There is no known cause or cure for lupus and there have been no new treatments in forty years. It is estimated that there are over 36,000 people in New Jersey who have lupus.

New Jersey Chapter

The Lupus Foundation of America, New Jersey Chapter, is a non-profit organization centrally located in the heart of New Jersey. Our primary mission is responding to the needs of people affected by lupus. The New Jersey Chapter provides hope, education, support services, awareness, and funding for research.  The foundation assists  more than 3,000 people with lupus and their families.

Our mission is to educate and support those affected by lupus and find the cure.
